Job Description
Pilot Company is a renowned industry-leading network of travel centers operating with a dedicated team of more than 30,000 employees. With a vast footprint that includes over 750 retail and fueling locations across 44 states and six Canadian provinces, Pilot Company has firmly established itself as a dominant player in the energy and logistics sectors. The company's energy division provides essential fuel supply services, owning one of the largest tanker fleets in the industry and supporting critical oil operations in some of the nation's busiest basins. Beyond fuel supply, Pilot Company boasts expertise in supply chain management, retail operations, logistics, transportation, technology and digital innovation, construction, maintenance, human resources, finance, sales, and marketing, reflecting a comprehensive approach to the marketplace. Founded in 1958 by Jim A. Haslam II and currently led by CEO Adam Wright, Pilot Company remains deeply connected to its founding values centered on a people-first culture and community involvement. This commitment is evident in its ongoing efforts to fuel people and keep North America moving efficiently and sustainably.
The featured role is for a Class A CDL Refined Fuel Driver based in Tucson, AZ, offering an estimated annual salary range of $89,000 to $98,000, with hourly wages between $27.50 and $30.00 after completing the mandatory training period. This position plays a vital role within Pilot Company’s logistics and energy division, responsible for safely transporting refined fuels across designated routes. Ideal candidates will hold a Class A commercial driver’s license with both Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, alongside at least one year of experience driving a tractor-trailer. While experience in the petroleum industry is a plus, it is not a strict requirement, as Pilot Company values a strong driving record and a dedication to safety and professionalism.
This driving position offers multiple opportunities for additional compensation, including pay differentials for night shifts and weekend work, time-and-a-half pay for overtime exceeding 40 hours a week, and incentives such as safety enhancement pay and driver trainer allowances. Drivers receive a $10 meal coupon per shift, which can be redeemed at any company location, further adding to the overall compensation package. Additionally, Pilot Company offers a robust benefits package that covers medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage for employees and their families. The company also provides life insurance and long-term disability coverage fully paid for by the employer, along with a competitive 401(k) plan featuring up to 4% company matching. Paid time off provisions offer up to five weeks for seasoned employees, holiday pay, and up to six weeks of paid parental leave for eligible mothers and fathers. Wellness benefits include free sleep apnea therapy, smoking cessation programs, and weight loss coaching for drivers participating in the health plan.
Moreover, Pilot Company supports career advancement potential through leadership roles such as Driver Trainer, Lead Driver, Field Supervisor, and regional Safety and Operations Management positions. Referral bonuses for drivers are also part of the employment package, promoting a collaborative and rewarding work environment. Pilot Company is dedicated to fostering a workplace free from discrimination and ensures all qualified applicants receive fair consideration regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. This role offers not only competitive pay and comprehensive benefits but also the chance to be part of a reputable company committed to its people and community.
