Job Description
Maine Oxy is a reputable company specializing in the distribution of industrial gases, including helium. Recognized for its commitment to safety, reliability, and customer satisfaction, Maine Oxy operates as a dedicated industrial gas supplier serving established clients with consistent, predictable delivery schedules. The company prides itself on maintaining high industry standards while fostering a positive work environment for its employees. Maine Oxy offers a unique opportunity for professional drivers who prefer stable, routine routes with no cold stops or the need to chase new freight, making it an ideal employer for those seeking a balanced work-life schedule.
This position involves running dedicated regional routes delivering helium compressed gas cylinders to established, repeat customers within a set territory. Drivers benefit from no touch-and-go dispatching, ensuring they cover the same general area all week, providing a consistent routine. The role requires operating clean, non-flammable products and involves a mix of driving and manual tasks such as loading and unloading cylinders. Drivers spend Monday through Thursday or Friday on the road, with 3 to 4 overnight stays in hotels depending on the zone, and return home every weekend. This schedule provides a predictable workweek, allowing drivers to enjoy their weekends at home. Maine Oxy values safety and offers extensive benefits, including strong overtime opportunities, a $3,000 sign-on bonus paid in installments, and an annual safety bonus of up to $2,000 for safe driving performance.
In addition to competitive pay, employees accrue three weeks of paid time off in their first year starting from day one and have access to a 401(k) plan with a 50% company match up to 6%. Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans are also available, along with company-paid short-term disability and options for life insurance and long-term disability. The company provides practical support like an annual boot and pants program and rewards for clean DOT stops. Drivers operate brand new trailers and tractors, regularly lift weights ranging from 25 to 75 pounds (occasionally over 100 pounds), and perform frequent physical activities including bending, standing, walking, and reaching in various weather conditions. The role also requires the ability to detect any leaking gas by sound or smell, emphasizing the importance of safety awareness.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Class A CDL drivers with a Hazmat endorsement who are looking for steady, dependable work without the unpredictability of cold stops or high-pressure dispatching. Maine Oxy encourages applicants who meet the qualifications and are ready to commit to a steady, familiar route with guaranteed weekends at home. The company is an equal opportunity employer and makes reasonable accommodations for disabilities, ensuring an inclusive workplace for all employees. Physical requirements and essential job functions are available upon request, underlining the company’s transparency and commitment to employee well-being.
