At Core-Mark, employees are valued as vital contributors to the essential work of supporting America's food distribution system, offering numerous growth opportunities in a dynamic and supportive setting.
The role of Driver, Hourly CDL-A, is integral to Core-Mark's operations, focused on the safe and timely delivery of food and food-related products to customers. This position requires operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight assignments. Responsibilities include carrying out required safety inspections of trucks and trailers, reporting and addressing any safety issues or repairs, verifying the secure loading of freight, managing accurate documentation, and ensuring deliveries adhere to scheduled routes. Drivers are also responsible for unloading products, conducting damage checks, collecting payments when necessary, and maintaining cleanliness and security of their vehicle and freight.
The position demands physical capability to handle products weighing from 10 to 35 pounds regularly and up to 60 to 90 pounds occasionally, utilizing equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates to move freight efficiently. Candidates must be at least 21 years old with a valid CDL-A license, a clean motor vehicle report for the past three years, and possess or be willing to obtain a valid DOT health card. The role emphasizes safety, responsibility, and excellent communication skills, supported by company policies promoting equal employment opportunity and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
