Job Description
ABC Supply Interiors is a prominent specialty distributor in the construction industry, providing a comprehensive range of building materials such as drywall, ceiling tiles, steel framing, and other essential products primarily used by commercial and residential contractors. Renowned for blending the extensive product capabilities of a national distributor with the attentive service and personal touch typically associated with a locally owned business, ABC Supply Interiors offers a unique value proposition to its customers. This combination has cemented its reputation for reliability, quality, and unmatched customer service within the building materials supply sector.
Established as a leader in its field, ABC Supply Interiors focuses on delivering superior products along with tailored solutions that meet the specific requirements of contractors. It emphasizes safety, quality assurance, and prompt delivery, which are core to supporting the success of construction projects across various scales and complexities. With this commitment to excellence, ABC Supply Interiors not only provides the materials but also cultivates strong partnerships with its clients to ensure their projects proceed without delays or complications related to supply chain issues.
The current opening is for a licensed CDL driver to join the team on a local basis, with a weekday schedule of Monday through Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of service ABC Supply Interiors is known for by ensuring the secure and timely transportation of building materials from the facility to job sites. Unlike long-haul truck driving positions, this role focuses strictly on local deliveries, making it an excellent opportunity for those seeking a regular schedule with no overnight travel requirements.
As a CDL driver for ABC Supply Interiors, you will be responsible for safely operating a delivery vehicle, overseeing the accurate loading and unloading of materials, and ensuring that all delivery activities comply with regulatory safety directives and traffic laws. You will physically handle building materials, often with the assistance of a co-worker, and guarantee that the products arrive at construction sites in excellent condition, neatly placed and organized as specified by the order tickets. Additionally, you will be expected to operate specialized equipment such as booms, cranes, or Gradalls as necessary, enhancing delivery efficiency and safety.
This role demands a high level of physical capability, including the ability to consistently lift and carry heavy materials, often up to 250 lbs with assistance, and to perform tasks that require standing, climbing, reaching, bending, and twisting throughout long shifts. Preference is given to candidates who have prior experience with drywall boom trucks and semi-tractor or trailer operation, as this experience contributes to the smooth execution of delivery tasks.
ABC Supply Interiors supports its employees by offering a comprehensive benefits package. Eligible employees can access health, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan with a generous company match, and various employer-paid insurances including short-term and long-term disability as well as life insurance. Additional benefits include an employee assistance program, flexible spending accounts, and paid vacation, sick days, and holidays. Together, these benefits demonstrate the company's commitment to supporting the well-being and financial security of its workforce.
This position represents a significant opportunity for CDL drivers seeking a stable, rewarding career with an established company that values diversity and inclusivity. ABC Supply Interiors actively encourages applications from women, minorities, and veterans, reflecting its dedication to equitable hiring practices and creating a diverse workplace. In summary, the role combines local driving responsibilities with hands-on handling of quality building materials, ensuring that projects across the region are supplied with the best materials and dependable service.
