The company prides itself on building close, personalized relationships through its dedicated team of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts. This team helps customers enhance their operations by offering valuable advice on menu development, product selection, and operational strategies that contribute to their overall success. This opportunity offers a competitive salary range of approximately $70,000 to $90,000 annually, with employment structured on a full-time basis. Employees benefit from a Monday through Friday schedule with occasional Saturday shifts, averaging 12-hour workdays. Starting and ending times vary, but drivers return home daily, emphasizing a work-life balance.
The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver with Performance Foodservice is essential to the integrity and efficiency of the country’s food supply chain. Drivers hold a critical position that involves transporting food and related products safely and securely while ensuring on-time delivery to customers. Equipped with either a tractor trailer or straight truck, drivers operate on intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop routes.
Beyond mere transportation, delivery drivers serve as the face of the company, maintaining positive, lasting relationships with customers while upholding the highest safety standards. Responsibilities encompass conducting rigorous safety inspections before and after trips, maintaining compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, inspecting freight for proper loading and security, and handling necessary paperwork with accuracy and professionalism. Drivers perform damage control checks on goods, unload products into designated customer storage areas, and ensure that all freight and equipment are properly secured at the end of each shift.
Performance Foodservice fosters an inclusive and safe workplace culture noted for its focus on rewards, recognition, and mutual respect. Employees benefit from day-one health and wellness coverage, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth within an essential industry. The company's dedication to equal employment opportunity highlights its commitment to diversity and inclusion without discrimination based on race, color, gender identity, age, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics.

Drivers not only contribute to the operational success of a major foodservice distributor but also enjoy a workplace that values their safety, development, and well-being. This career provides both stability and advancement in a vital sector, offering a meaningful way to impact foodservice delivery nationwide.
