The position typically operates Monday through Friday with early morning starts, supporting local routes that exclude nights and weekends, aiming to promote a healthy work-life balance. This role not only ensures timely and secure delivery of goods but also acts as the face of the company, engaging professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers to maintain strong business relationships.
Drivers are expected to adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies. Their duties include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance, reporting any necessary repairs, securing freight properly, completing required paperwork accurately, and managing delivery transactions, including collecting payments and handling customer returns. The role also involves general housekeeping tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety standards in trucks and loading areas. Candidates must have a valid CDL-A license, meet all state licensing requirements, maintain a clean driving record, and be capable of handling physical demands such as lifting and operating equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates. Vehicle safety, excellent customer service, professionalism, and attention to detail are paramount.
