With a team comprised of sales representatives, chefs, consultants, and industry experts, Performance Foodservice builds close, supportive relationships with its customers, offering guidance on improving operations, menu development, product selection, and overall business strategies. The company prides itself not only on delivering high-quality food products but also on going above and beyond to support independent restaurant owners and foodservice professionals in achieving their goals and dreams. Known for its commitment to customer service excellence, Performance Foodservice provides a unique blend of product availability and expert advice, ensuring its clients thrive in a competitive marketplace.

The role of a CDL-A Driver at Performance Foodservice is a vital position within the company’s supply chain operations. Delivery drivers are responsible for ensuring that food and foodservice products are transported safely, efficiently, and timely to various customer locations. This position offers a competitive salary, with earnings expected to surpass $75,000 in the first year, along with a $7,500 hiring bonus, subject to eligibility. Drivers are responsible for conducting thorough safety inspections of vehicles and trailers, adhering closely to Department of Transportation regulations and company safety protocols. The role requires diligent completion of all paperwork related to freight handling, verification of deliveries, and safe handling of goods.

Accurate record-keeping of hours of service and compliance with federal, state, and company regulations is mandatory. The position also expects the driver to participate in daily housekeeping tasks related to the tractor and trailer and support the team environment by assisting with other departmental duties as needed.

This role is particularly suited to individuals with a valid CDL-A license, a clean motor vehicle record, and at least 12 months of commercial driving experience. The ability to pass post-offer drug testing and background checks, along with possessing or being able to obtain a current DOT Health Card, is essential. Physical requirements include the capacity to lift and move product cases weighing between 10 and 90 pounds, using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates.

Performance Foodservice values its employees and offers a welcoming and inclusive work environment that embraces diversity and equality. The company provides comprehensive benefits including health and wellness plans from day one, employee stock purchase opportunities, 401K matching, educational assistance, paid time off, and more.
