The role of Delivery Driver at US Foods offers a rewarding career path with a starting pay rate of $29.00 per hour, which increases to $32.00 per hour after 90 days. Generally, drivers work five days a week, Monday through Saturday, with shifts starting between 3am and 5am. Delivery Drivers are essential to the US Foods team as they are often the primary representatives of the company during customer interactions. This role requires the candidate to safely operate trucks while adhering to scheduled delivery times, ensuring products are delivered accurately and efficiently. The job entails unloading products using equipment such as two-wheelers or pallet jacks and placing them in designated customer storage areas. Delivery Drivers are also responsible for verifying delivery accuracy and obtaining proper signatures from customers to confirm receipt.

The driver will handle collections and payments when applicable, perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections, and maintain thorough communication during deliveries. Candidates must hold a valid CDL Class A license with necessary endorsements, be at least 21 years of age, and have a minimum of six months commercial driving experience or at least three months within food and beverage delivery. Knowledge of manual transmission operation is preferred and may be required at some locations. Communication skills in English, including the ability to read traffic signs, respond to inquiries, and complete required paperwork, are essential.

Job Duties

  • Safely drive trucks to customers and meet scheduled customer delivery times
  • Carefully unload products from the trailer with a two-wheeler, pallet jack, or by hand and place in designated customer storage areas

  • Handle collections and payments from customers when applicable
