The company is currently seeking to hire Truck Drivers for local routes who will be integral in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of America's food distribution system. The role offers starting wages between $68,000 and $72,000 annually, which combines hourly base pay and overtime, with a desirable four-day work week schedule that includes Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays off. The shift begins early in the morning between 5:30 am and 6:00 am, with the position allowing drivers to return home daily, enhancing work-life balance.

As a Delivery Driver at Core-Mark, you will be a crucial part of the country’s food supply chain. Your primary responsibility is to safely and promptly deliver food and food-related products by operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes, including local, intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight operations. You will ensure that all deliveries meet stringent safety requirements and are conducted in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Besides driving, the role requires active customer interaction, maintaining professionalism, and building meaningful relationships with customers. The driver represents the company's brand and values in every interaction.

The position also involves various responsibilities such as conducting pre- and post-trip safety inspections of the vehicle and trailer, ensuring the proper loading and securing of freight, accurately handling delivery paperwork, and managing returns. Drivers must be diligent in reporting safety concerns, adhering to company policies, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within their work area. Completing daily driving logs, securing equipment after shifts, and cooperating with team members are fundamental to the role.

This job is ideal for individuals with a valid CDL-A license who have at least six months of commercial driving experience and who meet Core-Mark's high safety and professionalism standards. Drivers must be 21 years or older, capable of physical tasks such as hand lifting and using equipment to move product cases that vary in weight, and able to pass required background and drug screenings. A clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years, road test completion, and possession or the ability to obtain a current DOT Health Card are mandatory for this role.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 6 months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Compliance with all state licensing and certification requirements
  • Clean motor vehicle report for the last 3 years
  • Successful completion of post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Passing of road test
  • Possession or ability to obtain valid DOT Health Card
  • Physical ability to hand-lift and operate equipment to move product cases

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent

  • Valid CDL-A license

  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift

Job Duties

  • Performs all required safety checks, including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Performs count check of items and check customer invoices of products that have been loaded
  • Checks and completes in an accurate and legible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight
  • Moves tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas
  • Performs damage control checks on items, scans, and contacts supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
  • Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collects money (cash or checks) where required
  • Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
  • Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured
  • Unloads damaged goods and customer returns and brings to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required
  • At the end of the shift secures all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
