Job Description

McCoy's Building Supply is a leading provider of lumber, building materials, hardware, and other construction and maintenance supplies. Operating as a reputable retail and wholesale building materials company, McCoy's has established a robust presence in the construction supply industry, serving a diverse clientele including homeowners, contractors, and businesses. Located in Bryan, Texas, McCoy's is known for its commitment to quality products, exceptional customer service, and reliable delivery solutions. As a full-time employer, McCoy's offers competitive pay and a supportive work environment focused on growth, safety, and employee satisfaction. They emphasize adherence to safety standards and comprehensive training programs to ensure all employees are well-prepared and qualified for their roles.

The Delivery Driver role at McCoy's Building Supply is integral to the efficient transfer of products from warehouses to customers' homes, construction sites, and business locations. This position requires reliable individuals who can operate company vehicles safely, manage delivery schedules effectively, and maintain excellent customer relations. Starting at $21.50 per hour, this full-time role involves more than just driving; delivery drivers are also responsible for verifying order details, collecting payments for cash-on-delivery orders, and ensuring accurate record-keeping aligned with company procedures. The job demands proficiency in navigation using GPS and other tools to guarantee timely deliveries across specified routes.

In addition to driving, McCoy's delivery drivers participate actively in yard and warehouse activities such as stocking and organizing materials. They assist customers directly in the yard, responding to product inquiries and supporting the loading process whenever they are not on the road. The position also entails safety responsibilities, including performing routine vehicle safety checks, following all relevant federal, state, and local laws, and upholding company safety standards consistently. Forklift operation is a vital skill for this role, with mandatory certification provided by the company.

The ideal candidate is at least 23 years old, has a valid driver’s license suitable for the vehicle operated, and meets the Department of Transportation’s qualifications if driving commercial vehicles. Training and certification on equipment use form an essential part of the onboarding process. McCoy's promotes a work environment where professionalism, respect, and courtesy towards customers and team members are expected and valued. This role does not have supervisory duties but requires the driver to act as a liaison between the store and customers, especially when addressing complaints or special requests.

Physical requirements include the ability to lift heavy loads, sometimes up to 100 pounds, and to work in various weather conditions. The role may occasionally require overtime, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Employees benefit from structured training, a clear path for skills development, and a transparent procedure for addressing workplace needs. McCoy's is proud to be an equal opportunity employer offering reasonable accommodations to support applicants and employees with disabilities, promoting diversity and inclusion throughout the organization.
