The role of a Core-Mark Truck Driver in Salt Lake City is an essential part of the company’s commitment to supporting America's food distribution system. This position offers competitive pay rates of $30.50 per hour and includes an impressive $5,000 sign-on bonus for all newly hired drivers, with terms discussed at the interview stage. One of the standout benefits of this role is the generous vacation package of seven weeks annually, earned through a system where drivers receive every eighth week off. The job offers day shift routes that dispatch early in the morning between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM, as well as night shift routes dispatching between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, providing flexibility for different schedules. Truck drivers at Core-Mark play a vital role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and related products, acting as the frontline ambassadors of the company. The position demands not only technical driving skills but also excellent customer service capabilities, as drivers build lasting relationships with the customers they serve. Responsibilities include operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate and interstate deliveries, shuttle, overnight, drive and drop routes. Drivers must comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies. They conduct essential safety inspections on their vehicles, maintain accurate delivery and freight paperwork, report safety and repair issues promptly, and handle customer interactions professionally. The role also involves careful loading and unloading of freight, ensuring the security of goods during transit, recording hours of service accurately, and maintaining cleanliness and order at their workstations.

This position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift and handle products weighing between 10 and 90 pounds and operate material handling equipment such as hand trucks and lift gates. Core-Mark values teamwork and encourages drivers to contribute positively within the department and the company at large. The company supports continued career development through growth opportunities and a safe working environment that respects all employees. This is a full-time role with comprehensive benefits that start from day one, including health and wellness programs, retirement savings plans with employer matching, an employee stock purchase plan, education assistance, and paid time off, making the role an excellent opportunity for professional drivers seeking career stability, competitive compensation, and a supportive company culture.
