The role of a Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is pivotal to sustaining the country’s food supply chain. Drivers perform the essential task of ensuring timely delivery of products to customers while maintaining the integrity and condition of goods throughout transport. These drivers are not only responsible for the logistics of transport but also serve as the public face of Core-Mark, building and maintaining strong relationships with customers. Job Requirements
- Valid CDL-A driver’s license
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Meets state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test
- Pass criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or hold valid DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move freight
Job Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Meets all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years
- Passes post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- Passes road test
- Attains or holds a valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure a new one
- Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate to move and stack product cases/freight
Job Duties
- Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required and follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
- Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Performs count check of items and verifies customer invoices for loaded products
- Completes accurate and legible paperwork associated with freight
- Moves tractor to the loading dock and attaches the preloaded trailer as needed
- Drives and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unloads products from trailer and transports items into designated customer storage areas
- Performs damage control checks on items, scans items, and contacts supervisor about order removals as per company policy
- Verifies delivery of items with customer and obtains proper signatures
- collects money where required
- Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
- Ensures tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returns, completes necessary paperwork
- Performs daily record of hours of service in compliance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Maintains cleanliness in tractor and loading dock, secures all equipment and paperwork at shift end
- Performs other related duties as assigned
