Job Description
Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a leading name in the convenience retail industry, recognized as part of a Fortune 150 corporation with more than $23 billion in revenue. With a strong commitment to delivering fresh and broad-line solutions, Core-Mark operates across the United States and Canada, serving customers through its extensive distribution centers. The company takes pride in its culture of empowerment, focusing on the growth and well-being of its customers, employees, and the communities it serves. Core-Mark’s reputation for excellence is backed by its dedication to equal employment opportunities and fostering an inclusive working environment that respects diversity in every form.
Core-Mark is currently seeking dedicated Truck Drivers based in Salt Lake City who are ready to play a vital role in America's food distribution system. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $30.50 per hour and includes an attractive $5,000 sign-on bonus subject to terms and conditions discussed during the interview process. Unique to this role is the exceptional benefit of receiving seven weeks of vacation annually, designed to promote a healthy work-life balance. Diverse work shifts are available, including day shifts with dispatch times between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM and night shifts dispatching from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The role of Truck Driver – Supply Chain Management (SCM) is crucial in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of food and food-related products to customers. Drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on various routes including intrastate, interstate, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop assignments. As an integral face of the company, these drivers build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring that all products not only arrive on schedule but in excellent condition.
In this role, drivers are compensated for every mile traveled, stop made, and product unloaded. Monitoring of equipment such as two-wheelers, lift gates, and proper product handling tools is essential as drivers are expected to manage freight cases ranging from 10 to 90 pounds. Compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations is mandatory, including pre- and post-trip inspections, record keeping, and reporting any safety hazards or required repairs. Drivers also handle administrative duties such as completing required paperwork accurately, securing freight, and verifying deliveries with customer signatures.
Core-Mark offers a safe and inclusive work environment characterized by rewards, recognition, and mutual respect. Employees benefit from a comprehensive suite of wellness and financial programs including Day 1 Health & Wellness Benefits, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K with employer matching, Educational Assistance, Paid Time Off, and more. Individuals selected for this position will not only gain financial rewards and robust benefits but also contribute meaningfully to the stability and efficiency of the nation’s food supply chain. This opportunity is perfectly suited for experienced CDL-A drivers who are committed, safety-conscious, and eager to grow within a supportive and progressive company.
