Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a prominent leader in the convenience retail industry and is part of a Fortune 150 company with over $23 billion in revenue. Specializing in fresh and broad-line solutions, Core-Mark serves an extensive network of customers throughout the United States and Canada by providing a comprehensive range of products, programs, and services from its distribution centers. Known for its commitment to empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark has built its reputation on delivering quality, reliability, and excellence in food and product distribution. The company fosters a safe, inclusive, and respectful working environment, emphasizing rewards, recognition, and respect for all employees. It is also dedicated to offering growth opportunities in essential roles that support America's food distribution system.

The Core-Mark Truck Driver position based in Salt Lake City offers a unique and rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about playing a pivotal role in the country’s food supply chain. This role is essential in ensuring that food and food service products reach customers efficiently, safely, and in optimal condition. Drivers are not only responsible for delivering products on time but are also the face of Core-Mark, building lasting relationships with customers and representing the company’s values and commitment to service excellence. The position offers competitive pay of $30.50 per hour, a $5,000 sign-on bonus (with terms and conditions), and extensive benefits including day one health and wellness coverage, employee stock purchase plans, 401K employer matching, and education assistance. In addition, drivers enjoy an exceptional work-life balance with every eighth week off, totaling seven weeks of vacation per year, and paid compensation for miles, stops, and unloading tasks.

This role involves driving tractor-trailers and straight trucks on various types of routes including local, intrastate, interstate, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop deliveries. With dispatch times for day shift routes between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM and night shift routes between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM, drivers have flexibility in scheduling while earning competitive wages. The company values hard work and recognizes efforts, with average Core-Mark drivers earning over $80,000 annually, and top drivers earning up to $100,000 or more.

Drivers are responsible for conducting all safety checks to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company standards. This includes performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and trailers, reporting any safety issues or hazards, and ensuring freight is properly loaded and secured. They maintain accurate records and paperwork, communicate professionally with customers and team members, and take part in general housekeeping and equipment security tasks. Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are critical in this role to maintain Core-Mark's high standards and regulatory compliance.
