Job Description

Core-Mark, a Performance Food Group Company, is a leading distributor in the convenience retail industry and a part of a Fortune 150 company. With over $23 billion in revenue, Core-Mark has established itself as an industry leader by consistently empowering its customers, employees, and communities. The company offers a broad range of fresh and broad-line solutions through its extensive network of distribution centers across the United States and Canada. Core-Mark is dedicated to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and rewarding work environment, fostering growth opportunities for all employees and emphasizing the critical role it plays in supporting America’s food distribution system.

The Delivery Driver position at Core-Mark is a vital role within the company’s logistics and supply chain operations. Delivery drivers are responsible for ensuring that food and food-service products are delivered safely and timely to customers while maintaining excellent customer service and solid relationships. This is a 100% touch freight delivery role where drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on local, intrastate, and interstate routes, including over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight assignments. The position offers competitive pay starting with training at $23.50 per hour and the opportunity to earn an average of $75,000 in the first year.

Core-Mark values safety and compliance, requiring drivers to perform comprehensive pre- and post-trip inspections adhering to Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers must ensure their vehicle and trailer meet company safety standards, properly load and secure freight, complete accurate delivery paperwork, and handle the collection of payments when necessary. The role includes interacting professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, making drivers the face of the company on every delivery. Core-Mark also offers extensive benefits, including day one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, and paid time off. The schedule for this role is Tuesday through Saturday, with dispatch times between 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, and drivers will return home daily.

This role suits those who possess a valid CDL-A license and at least six months of commercial motor vehicle driving experience, with a clean driving record and the ability to pass drug tests, background checks, and company road tests. The physical demands include the ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases ranging from 10-90 pounds, indicative of the dynamic and hands-on nature of this job. Core-Mark’s commitment to equal employment opportunity reinforces a diverse and inclusive workplace free of discrimination and bias, aligning with local, state, and federal laws. Overall, this position offers a valuable career path for drivers looking to grow within a reputable company dedicated to the essential task of food distribution.
