Core-Mark is currently seeking dedicated and responsible Food and Food Service Delivery Drivers who play a vital role in America’s food supply chain. This home-daily position emphasizes safety, reliability, and professionalism as drivers deliver essential food products to customers on predetermined routes. Drivers at Core-Mark are considered the face of the company, building lasting customer relationships while ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods. The role involves driving tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate, interstate, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight routes. Delivery Drivers are tasked with following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, performing pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, as well as ensuring freight is properly loaded, secured, and delivered. Drivers will be responsible for handling paperwork, verifying deliveries, collecting payments when necessary, and maintaining clean and secure equipment. This role is a 100% touch freight delivery position requiring physical ability to handle freight weighing up to 35 pounds generally, and at times up to 60 to 90 pounds depending on location. Job Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum 6 months commercial motor vehicle driving experience
- Meet state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for past 3 years
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or hold valid DOT Health Card
- Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move freight
Job Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be 21 years or older
- Minimum of 6 months commercial motor vehicle driving experience
- Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past 3 years
- Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attain or hold a valid current DOT Health Card or be able to secure one
- Ability to hand-lift and utilize equipment such as two-wheeler, lift gate to move and stack product cases and freight
Job Duties
- Perform all required safety checks including pre-trip and post-trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed
- Report all safety issues and repairs required
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Immediately report safety hazards
- Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
- Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices of loaded products
- Complete required paperwork accurately and legibly associated with freight
- Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
- Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
- Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy
- Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
- Collect money where required
- Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
- Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
- Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
- Perform general housekeeping duties on tractor and loading dock area
- Complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
