Core-Mark’s commitment to growth, safety, and inclusive work culture makes it a dynamic and respected player in the transportation and foodservice distribution sectors.
Core-Mark is currently hiring for a Transportation role based in Fresno, California, offering a competitive salary of $75,000 plus. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that food and related products are delivered efficiently and safely across local and interstate routes. The position offers excellent benefits from day one, including health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and many opportunities for career growth.
The role involves a 100% touch freight delivery responsibility, driving either tractor-trailers or straight trucks and delivering food products on a pre-determined schedule. Drivers are home daily and work Tuesday through Saturday with dispatch times between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Trainees will earn $23.50 per hour during training, with the average driver earning approximately $75,000 within their first year at Core-Mark.
This position requires a strong adherence to safety protocols, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company standards. Delivery Drivers perform pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections, ensure freight is properly loaded and secured, verify delivery documentation, and maintain professional communication with customers and co-workers. Drivers must also manage the physical demands of unloading and moving product cases that can vary in weight from 10 to up to 90 pounds, utilizing equipment such as two-wheelers, lift gates, and other freight moving tools.
Overall, the role is tailored for individuals who are experienced commercial vehicle drivers with a commitment to safety, reliability, and excellent customer service. Core-Mark values team players who contribute to a positive and respectful workplace environment and who take pride in representing the company and its mission to deliver vital goods efficiently to customers across the country. This career path offers stability, competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities to advance within a leading food distribution company.
