Job Description

GSC Wholesale LLC, operating under the name Grocers Supply and based in Houston, Texas, stands as the largest wholesale grocery supplier in Texas. The company supplies over 900 independent grocery stores and serves a diverse customer base that ranges from single-store independent retailers to major chains such as Fiesta, FoodTown, Market Basket, Cox Foodarama/La Fiesta, Sellers Brothers, Minyard Food Stores, G.E. Foodland, and El Rio Grande. Grocers Supply is widely recognized for its commitment to quality and service, cementing its role as a vital link in the grocery supply chain across the region. Known for its dedication to operational safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction, GSC Wholesale LLC prioritizes a supportive workplace culture and equal employment opportunities, maintaining compliance with federal regulations and affirmative action policies. They emphasize inclusiveness and offer equal consideration for all candidates regardless of race, gender, disability status, or veteran status, fostering a workplace where every employee is valued and respected.

The company is currently seeking to hire Professional Drivers who will embark on their careers with the guidance of a Professional Driver Trainer (PDT). This program is designed to instill the company’s operational standards and regulatory requirements — known internally as the "C&S Way." New hires will undergo thorough training that equips them with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed. Upon successful completion of the training program, drivers will be responsible for safely delivering products to customers, maintaining regulatory compliance, and upholding high levels of customer satisfaction through reliable and efficient service. The role is a full-time position, primarily on the first shift, and is focused on safety, timeliness, and the delivery of quality customer service.

Drivers will operate various Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs), including semi-trucks, eighteen-wheelers, and box trucks, applying their training and experience to manage 3 to 10 delivery stops daily. This position requires careful attention to the loading and unloading of products—both ambient and temperature sensitive—while performing mandatory inspections and documentation of equipment to comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) and company regulations. The work environment includes exposure to a range of temperatures, from cold freezer conditions (-20F to 0F) to perishable and grocery warehouse settings (28F to 90F). This role demands physical capability and a DOT-certified commercial driver's license.

GSC Wholesale LLC offers a comprehensive benefits package starting from day one of employment, which includes medical, dental, and vision coverage. Competitive weekly pay is guaranteed, with $1000 a week during the training period and payments made every Wednesday. Additional benefits include tuition reimbursement, company-matched 401(k), paid time off, holiday pay, paid training, career progression opportunities, employee health and wellness programs, employee discounts, and assistance programs. The company also provides $100 towards safety shoe purchases, emphasizing their commitment to employee safety and well-being.

Working with GSC Wholesale means joining a company where safety is not only a priority but a condition of employment. Employees are expected to comply with FMCSR, DOT, and company policies, ensuring a safe and productive work environment. The role requires a minimum of one year of recent tractor-trailer experience or successful completion of a company-approved CDL truck driving school. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid DOT physical exam, reflecting the company's high standards for driver health and certification. The job promises a supportive training environment, career growth potential, and a chance to be part of a leading organization dedicated to excellence in wholesale grocery distribution.
