Job Description

Liberty Mutual is a leading global insurance company dedicated to helping people preserve and protect the things that matter most to them. With a rich history dating back over a century, Liberty Mutual has grown to become one of the most respected names in the insurance industry. The company offers a wide range of property and casualty insurance products and services to both individuals and businesses. Known for its commitment to innovation, customer service, and social responsibility, Liberty Mutual fosters a culture of collaboration and inclusiveness that empowers employees to thrive and make meaningful contributions. Operating with a strong emphasis on ethics and integrity, Liberty Mutual integrates advanced technology with human expertise to deliver effective insurance solutions tailored to evolving customer needs.

At Liberty, you'll thrive in a hybrid setting that encourages both in-person collaboration and the flexibility of remote work. This hybrid model supports innovation and growth by enabling employees to connect closely with their teams and deepen valuable relationships across the company while maintaining the convenience and focus that remote work provides. Employees working within 50 miles of select office locations — including Boston, MA; Westborough, MA; Hoffman Estates, IL; Weatogue, CT; Indianapolis, IN; Plano, TX; Suwanee, GA; Lake Oswego, OR; Las Vegas, NV; and Chandler, AZ — are expected to attend the office twice a month, which supports team-building and face-to-face collaboration while respecting individual work-life balance.

The role of Claims Specialist at Liberty Mutual is an integral part of the Claims Team, handling an assigned caseload comprising routine to moderately complex claims. Utilizing the latest technology, the Claims Specialist manages the full lifecycle of claims from investigation to resolution. This process includes evaluating liability and compensability, assessing losses, and negotiating settlements with an emphasis on delivering exceptional customer service. The role interacts with a wide array of stakeholders, including claimants, policyholders, appraisers, attorneys, and other third parties, requiring strong communication skills and a keen understanding of insurance practices. Training programs are provided to enhance job-related skills and support professional development within the insurance claims domain.

This role also supports Liberty Mutual's pay philosophy, emphasizing competitive salary ranges based on skills, experience, education, certifications, and location, with opportunities for career progression. Some roles may include compensation plans featuring commission and/or bonus earnings, reflecting performance and business contributions. Liberty Mutual is an equal opportunity employer that promotes an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought, background, and experience is embraced. Employees benefit from comprehensive programs designed to support well-being, professional growth, and work flexibility, which help create an empowering workplace culture focused on success and collaboration.
