Job Description
The Regional Dry Van Carrier is a well-established transportation company specializing in providing reliable and efficient dry van freight services across multiple regions in the United States including Texas, Oklahoma, the Southeast, the Midwest, and the Northeast. With a solid reputation for steady and customer-focused freight management, this company prides itself on offering high-quality freight solutions primarily centered on no-touch freight. Their approach is designed to respect and understand driver needs, avoiding over-hiring and focusing on sustained freight flow to ensure consistent opportunities for their drivers. This regional dry van carrier offers a mix of runs that allow drivers to maintain a balance between work and home life, with the added flexibility of riders and pets being welcome on the route. The company operates with a commitment to safety and compliance, including a strict policy against hiring anyone who has previously failed or refused a DOT drug test.
As a driver with this regional dry van carrier, you will be entrusted with transporting dry van freight that is 100% no-touch, with 65% of the freight being drop and hook, offering a more streamlined and less physically demanding work environment. Drivers can expect competitive weekly pay, which averages between $1300 and $1700 depending on mileage and the regions traveled. Notably, loads terminating in the Northeast earn an additional $0.25 per mile on top of the base rates. The pay structure is designed to reward productivity, with incremental bonuses as drivers hit specific mileage targets such as 9000, 10000, and 11000 miles per month. This creates an excellent earning potential for motivated drivers.
Additional perks include benefits starting after just 30 days of employment, which encompass medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Retirement planning is also facilitated with a 401(k) plan beginning after 90 days. Other benefits include paid orientation of $250, vacation pay based on average earnings over the previous 52 weeks, and the freedom to take your truck and trailer home weekly, with certain space requirements for the trailer attachment. Rider and pet policies are inclusive, allowing companions to join the journey, although some breed and weight restrictions apply to pets. The company's customer freight policy reduces the chances of hauling broker freight, providing stability and clarity for drivers.
Operationally, this role is ideal for drivers with a Class A CDL who have solid recent over-the-road or regional driving experience, ideally within the past three to five years. The company emphasizes safety and reliability, seeking drivers with clean driving records free from multiple moving violations or preventable accidents. This position offers a unique opportunity for professional drivers looking for a balanced, well-compensated regional driving role with the added benefits of pet-friendly policies and no forced dispatch to challenging delivery locations like NYC or Long Island, unless drivers choose to take on deliveries with additional pay incentives. Overall, this role offers a rewarding balance of competitive compensation, consistent freight, and a supportive company culture dedicated to driver well-being and satisfaction.
