The role of Civil Project Engineer at Core States Group is a crucial position designed for talented and driven professionals who want to make a tangible impact on infrastructure projects. As a Civil Project Engineer, your work will influence project planning, design, and construction management to ensure all assignments are completed on time, within budget, and meet the quality standards established. This person will lead collaboration efforts, manage resources, and oversee the technical direction to support both project execution and organizational growth. They will work directly with cross-functional teams including drafters, designers, administrative staff, clients, review agencies, and sub-consultants to coordinate requirements and deliver comprehensive civil engineering solutions.

The Civil Project Engineer will be involved in preparing construction plans, cost estimates, drainage and grading reports, and site development plans for various scales of residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D is required to produce detailed road designs, grading layouts, and profiles. The role necessitates a strong understanding of regulatory standards and the ability to perform complex calculations related to stormwater management, utility systems, and roadway improvements. Experience in project administration tasks like billing, contract tracking, and preparing project documentation is also expected to ensure smooth and efficient project operations.

This position is hybrid and based in Core States Group's offices located in Roseville, CA; Frisco, TX; Bentonville, AR; Scottsdale, AZ; Bellevue, WA; Kent, WA; Puyallup, WA; and Richland, WA. Remote work is also considered for candidates located in Washington state. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum 5 years relevant civil engineering experience
  • 5+ years of site development design experience
  • Experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Ability to work in hybrid or remote environment in specified locations

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required with ability to obtain additional state licenses
  • Minimum of 5 years civil engineering experience in an engineering or construction firm
  • Over 5 years of site development design experience
  • Proven track record of successful project management and client relationship management
  • Experience as a hands-on contributor while leading engineering functions
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D including grading tools and creation of alignments, profiles, corridors, and surfaces

Job Duties

  • Preparation of construction plans, feasibility reports, cost estimates, and drainage reports with minimal supervision
  • Coordination with review agencies, clients, and sub-consultants for permit application
  • Preparation of grading plans, profiles, road design and details using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Researching regulatory requirements and design standards
  • Performing detailed calculations for stormwater facilities, utility systems, and roadway improvements
  • Collaborating with drafters, designers, and administrative staff to complete projects on time and within budget
  • Preparation of site development plans for residential, commercial, industrial, multi-use complexes, master planned communities, and business parks
  • Updating and managing project documentation including spreadsheets, task lists, and memos
  • Supporting internal project administration including setting up project numbers, billing reports, contract tracking, and invoice follow-ups
  • Participating in meetings to review project updates, receive assignments, and take notes
  • Other duties as assigned
