Drivers must also support the sales process by soliciting additional business opportunities and working collaboratively with dispatch and sales teams.

Candidates for this position must hold a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for doubles/triples, hazardous materials, and tank vehicles, although automatic transmission CDL restrictions are allowed. Experience within the last three years or successful completion of FedEx Freight's Driver Development Course is required. Additional qualifications include a good motor vehicle record, compliance with Department of Transportation regulations, and the ability to handle physical demands, such as lifting freight weighing up to 100 pounds and sitting for extended periods.

Working conditions for the role involve driving in various weather and road conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, diesel fumes, and hazardous materials, with the requirement that hazardous materials endorsement be obtained within 120 days of hire. FedEx Freight supports equal employment opportunity and provides reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities.
