Job Description

Base is a dynamic platform dedicated to fostering in-real-life social connection and building vibrant communities. The company serves a discerning membership composed of accomplished individuals who have built successful careers, families, and reputations. These Members come to Base seeking what their busy calendars often lack: meaningful, regular in-person interactions with peers they genuinely want to know. At the heart of Base’s mission is the creation of memorable gatherings where authentic connections flourish. The gatherings themselves are the core product, with each event meticulously designed to deliver an exceptional social experience that resonates deeply with Members. Base’s ethos centers on quality and intentionality, transforming ordinary social events into unique opportunities for personal and professional growth through community engagement. This commitment to exceptional social experiences distinguishes Base as a leading force in exclusive social networking.

The role of a City Host at Base is pivotal in executing this mission by orchestrating these events within their respective cities. As a City Host, you will take full ownership of Base events that span various formats including experiences, socials, new-member orientations, dinners, and seasonal gatherings. Your responsibilities will begin before any Member arrives — setting the atmosphere with thoughtfully curated lighting, music, place cards, and an overall space flow that exudes welcoming sophistication. Greeting Members by name and making them feel recognized and valued is a critical element of your role. Throughout the event, you will work the room with confidence and warmth, managing transitions and maintaining an energized, inviting atmosphere whether the event size ranges from an intimate 20-person dinner to a lively 60-person social. Beyond just hosting, you embody the spirit of the city, bringing knowledge of local culture, venues, and neighborhoods to create tailored experiences that feel authentic and memorable. Your attention to detail ensures that the environment is flawless—from adjusting a crooked chair to enhancing the music flow—so that every moment feels seamless. At event close, you will skillfully wrap up the gathering and leave the venue in impeccable condition. This role is ideal for those who are charismatic, peer-oriented, and thrive in holding a room of accomplished adults with genuine curiosity and engagement. The City Host is not a performer but a gracious presence who fosters connection and community essence. Base offers competitive pay ranging from $25 to $300 per event, scaled according to event size and complexity. Events typically last 2 hours with additional setup and teardown time, taking place mostly during evenings and weekends with a flexible schedule. Requirements include a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and the physical capability to manage event setup and breakdown. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals experienced in hospitality, fine dining, theater, private clubs, event production, or related fields who are passionate about creating exceptional social environments and nurturing enduring Member relationships. Join Base and play a vital role in redefining social connection through expertly hosted, meaningful gatherings that resonate long after the event ends.
