The position available at FedEx Freight, Inc. is for a full-time Driver who will be responsible for picking up and delivering freight between Service Centers and customers, while also supporting the sales process. This role involves the safe operation of tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles and triples, and straight trucks in accordance with company policies and DOT regulations. The driver will perform essential functions such as pre-trip inspections, freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, securing freight properly inside trailers, and maintaining accurate documentation. There is also an important customer service component, where the driver communicates with customers to understand their pick-up or delivery needs and proactively solicits additional business to support sales growth.

This role requires adherence to hazardous materials regulations when applicable, and the driver may be required to perform additional job duties such as tire chaining or stepping in as a road driver or dock employee if operationally necessary. FedEx Freight prioritizes the safety and compliance of its team members, ensuring that all employees meet specific licensing and certification standards, including possessing a Class A Commercial Driver's License with the appropriate endorsements. The advertised pay range for this position is $32.66 to $37.81 per hour, with additional mileage-based pay available for linehaul duties, complemented by fixed pay for certain linehaul-related tasks.
