Job Description

Citizens is a well-established financial institution committed to providing exceptional banking services across multiple states. Known for its strong community focus and comprehensive range of financial products, Citizens actively supports the personal and professional growth of its employees while delivering meaningful financial solutions to its diverse customer base. As a forward-thinking bank, Citizens embraces technology to enhance customer experience and streamline banking processes. The bank operates a network of branches where customer service, trust, and innovation remain core values.

The Citizens Teller role is a vital position within the bank’s retail branch team. A teller serves as the first point of contact for customers, greeting them warmly and handling their financial transactions accurately and efficiently. In this capacity, you will assist customers with basic banking needs, including cash and digital payments, while educating them on Citizens’ products and services. The role emphasizes a customer-centric approach, ensuring every interaction strengthens the customer’s financial knowledge and relationship with the bank. Beyond routine transactions, you will also introduce customers to the bank’s technological tools such as mobile apps and ATMs to help them become self-sufficient in managing their finances.

This position offers a starting salary of $21 per hour and up, with the actual pay ranging between $20.67 and $25.48 per hour, based on factors like location, skills, and experience. The role is part-time with an expected weekly commitment of approximately 20 hours. Work hours are scheduled according to branch needs, which may include weekends and evenings.

Citizens provides a supportive work environment that values meaningful work and long-term relationships both with customers and colleagues. The company encourages a collaborative culture where employees' ideas and feedback are respected and considered. Career development is a priority, with opportunities for growth through coaching, training, and career planning. The bank also prioritizes community involvement by offering paid volunteer time and donation matching programs.

Comprehensive benefits include health care coverage plans encompassing medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) retirement savings with corporate matching; tuition assistance; mental health and wellbeing programs; and various discounts like student loan refinancing. These benefits underscore Citizens’ commitment to employee wellness and financial security.

In the teller role, you will be expected to follow all financial policies, including cash handling procedures and adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. A key part of the role is the ability to listen carefully to customers’ financial needs, provide appropriate advice, and connect them to bankers for advanced services or solutions. Your ability to problem-solve and ensure customer satisfaction directly contributes to the success of the branch and the overall reputation of Citizens as a trusted financial partner.

Candidates applying for this role should be prepared to complete a video interview assessment within seven days of application. This step allows candidates to showcase their skills, experience, and personality in a convenient digital format, helping speed up the hiring process.

Citizens is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated, and every employee is treated with respect and professionalism. Employment decisions are made based on merit, qualifications, and performance, ensuring fairness and equal opportunity for all applicants.
