Job Description

Citizens is a respected banking institution committed to delivering exceptional financial services and support to its customers across numerous locations. As a financial services company, Citizens operates branches that provide personalized banking solutions tailored to meet the varied needs of individuals and businesses alike. Known for fostering an inclusive culture, the bank values respect, professionalism, and equal employment opportunities for all colleagues regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or any other category protected by law. Citizens continually invests in its employees through career development, comprehensive benefits, work-life balance initiatives, and community engagement programs, making it a great place for professionals to grow and thrive.

The Citizens Teller role is a frontline position critical to the success of each branch. As a Citizens Teller, you will serve as the initial point of contact for customers entering the branch, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall banking experience. The primary responsibility is greeting customers and assisting them with various financial transactions both in-person and through digital platforms such as mobile apps and ATMs. You will need to be comfortable with technology and capable of guiding customers through digital banking tools in a way that builds confidence and promotes convenience.

Beyond transaction processing, the role emphasizes customer engagement—listening attentively to customers' financial needs and providing personalized advice or connecting them to specialized Bankers for more complex services. Tellers play a vital role in educating customers about Citizens' products and services, helping them understand the benefits and encouraging the use of tailored financial solutions conducive to achieving their goals. To maintain trust and compliance, you will adhere strictly to all financial policies, cash handling procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.

This position offers a starting salary of $21 per hour, with possibilities to earn up to $25.48 depending on location, skills, and experience. Employment is typically part-time with an approximate 20-hour workweek, including varying shifts that may cover evenings and weekends. The company places a strong emphasis on meaningful work and positive relationships, rewarding employees with opportunities for growth and upskilling. Employees benefit from a supportive community-focused culture that encourages volunteering, matched donations, and overall personal and professional wellbeing.

In addition to competitive wages, Tellers receive comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance. The benefits package extends to include a 401(k) retirement savings plan with corporate match, tuition assistance programs, mental health resources, student loan refinancing discounts, and flexible work arrangements. These benefits are designed to ensure that team members are well-supported in both their professional and personal lives.

Overall, the Citizens Teller position is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about helping others, with strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused approach. This role promises a fulfilling career path with the potential for advancement, continuous learning, and the satisfaction of making a meaningful difference in customers' financial journeys.
