The role of the Shift Leader at Cicis Pizza is pivotal to the daily success of each restaurant location. As a Shift Leader, you will take on key responsibilities to direct shift operations, ensure compliance with company standards, and uphold the quality of both products and services delivered to guests. This position is important because it supports operational excellence through leadership during shifts that require multitasking and a hands-on approach. You will be charged with supervising and coaching team members, managing guest relations to foster brand loyalty, and contributing toward achieving sales and profit goals.

This is a non-exempt, hourly position requiring candidates to be at least 18 years old. Shift Leaders must be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and potentially unscheduled hours to accommodate operational needs and emergencies. Reliable transportation is essential to fulfill work responsibilities. Shift Leaders are also expected to be proficient with technology such as phones and computers, and bilingual skills are preferred in certain markets to better serve diverse communities.

Safety, cleanliness, and organization within the restaurant are top priorities. Shift Leaders ensure that the location meets all safety and security standards, resulting in a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike. The role demands excellent communication skills to train and guide team members using available resources like the Cicis Operations Manual and Team Member Handbook. Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work long hours, scheduled or unscheduled, including nights, weekends, and emergencies
  • Ability to successfully perform the job duties of all positions in the restaurant
  • Ability to lead a team during a shift with no supervision
  • Bilingual in certain markets
  • Work with phones and computers

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience in restaurant operations or managing a team preferred
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle guest concerns professionally and promptly
  • Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer usage
  • Effective communication and training skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
  • Bilingual skills in certain markets preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate exemplary operations skills in all aspects of the restaurant including making quality products for guests and ensuring each product meets Cicis standards and reflects the guest's order
  • Professionally and promptly respond to all guest concerns or issues
  • Solicit guest feedback, share feedback with team, and use feedback to improve operations and build brand loyalty
  • Communicate, train and promote quality standards to team members by utilizing all available tools including the Cicis Operations Manual and Team Member Handbook
  • Supervise a restaurant team, maintain adequate shift staffing levels according to projected sales, properly train team members to exceed guest expectations, ensure compliance with uniform and appearance standards, and coach for improved performance
  • Contribute to sales goals by providing prompt and friendly guest service and building sales through team member product training and sales execution
  • Contribute to overall profit goals by effectively utilizing the POS and other systems, execute cash management duties, assist in inventory management to minimize waste and loss, manage company assets ensuring the restaurant is clean, safe, and organized
  • Comply with safety and security standards at all times
