Cibo Detroit is a premier fine dining restaurant located in the heart of Downtown Detroit. This elegant establishment is renowned for its exquisite Mediterranean cuisine that masterfully blends rich flavors with an ambiance inspired by art deco design. Guests are welcomed into a tastefully decorated environment featuring distinctive elements such as palm trees, Moroccan lattice accents, and custom-designed seating to provide a sophisticated yet comfortable dining experience. With the capacity to seat over 200 guests, Cibo operates within a luxurious hotel that also houses five other unique kitchens, a speakeasy, a rooftop lounge, and modern amenities such as golf simulators. This upscale setting makes Cibo a sought-after destination for locals and visitors alike who crave authentic Mediterranean dishes crafted from the freshest ingredients.

The restaurant’s commitment to culinary excellence begins with sourcing premium ingredients, with a particular emphasis on collaborating with local farms and producers. The menu includes a Chef’s tasting experience, showcasing the creativity and artistry of Cibo’s talented chefs, making it a dining event that is both memorable and unique.

We are currently seeking a highly organized, reliable, and creative Host or Hostess to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial as the host or hostess serves as the first point of contact for guests entering Cibo and also the last person they interact with as they leave. The host or hostess sets the tone for the entire dining experience, acting much like a concierge by offering exceptional service and warm hospitality. Responsibilities will include greeting guests by name, managing reservations, answering calls, seating patrons, assisting the servers, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere throughout the restaurant. Additional duties may include providing guests with local information such as directions, recommendations for shopping or entertainment, and handling any issues or concerns to ensure a positive guest experience.

Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a friendly and outgoing demeanor, as well as the ability to remain organized in a fast-paced setting. Prior experience in hosting or restaurant service is preferred, along with a high school diploma or GED. Physical stamina is necessary due to prolonged periods of standing and walking. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet incoming guests when they enter and exit the restaurant and acknowledge each guest by name
  • Take reservations
  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Seat guests
  • Assist servers
  • Serve food if required
  • Regularly check cleanliness of restrooms
  • Observe and report any potential issues in the bar, parking lot, and restaurant area to management
  • Assist customers with any difficulties or escalate problems to management
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
