The role of a Food Server at The Chophouse is pivotal to maintaining the high standards that the restaurant is known for. The fine dining server at The Chophouse is responsible for interacting warmly and professionally with guests, taking detailed food and beverage orders, and providing knowledgeable recommendations including wine pairings to enhance the guests' enjoyment. This role demands an in-depth understanding of the menu items, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles, allowing the server to discuss dishes confidently and accurately. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years fine dining experience
  • effective communication skills verbally and in written English
  • advanced knowledge of wine and spirits
  • alcohol awareness certification
  • ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods
  • ability to lift and move product up to 50 lbs
  • fine finger manipulation
  • ability to work in environments with smoke, variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels
  • willingness to work indoors and outdoors during special events

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum of 2 years fine dining experience
  • advanced knowledge of wine and spirits
  • alcohol awareness certification
  • effective verbal and written communication skills in English

Job Duties

  • Greet guests promptly using the guests name if known
  • introduce yourself and any specials of the evening
  • familiarize oneself with all VIPs, knowing names and alerting staff of their arrival
  • possess knowledge of menu items, ingredients, garnishes, cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and textures
  • capable of explaining this information in full detail to guests
  • describe menu items and wines as requested
  • ability to make interesting and appropriate wine suggestions to compliment the dishes chosen
  • maintain tables throughout the service, clearing dishes between courses and empty glassware as necessary
  • ensure that station is properly set, including side station
  • monitor ticket times for food and beverage and inform the appropriate staff of delays
  • ability to use a POS system for accurately entering orders
  • set the pace and direct the flow of service
  • recognize team members who are going above and beyond using the Nugget’s system of recognition
  • knowledge of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations
  • perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for team members and guests alike
  • immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager
  • always maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget
  • regular predictable attendance is required
  • other duties and responsibilities as assigned
