Job Description
The Goddard School of Moore is a well-established early childhood education center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age. With over 35 years of experience, The Goddard School franchise locations are privately owned and operated by Goddard Franchisor LLC franchisees, ensuring that each site retains high standards that reflect the trust and commitment to early learning. The school focuses on developing young learners by embedding a family-oriented atmosphere where educators and staff collaborate closely to nurture each child's growth and discovery. This esteemed institution is recognized for its dedication to quality education and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), which stands as a testament to its excellence in early childhood education. Working at The Goddard School means being part of a vibrant community that empowers educators and support staff to enrich children’s lives every day.
The Goddard School of Moore is currently seeking a dedicated and organized Kitchen Manager/Cook to oversee and manage the school’s food program. This position plays an essential role in ensuring that the nutritional needs of the children are met through the preparation and service of healthy, kid-friendly meals and snacks. The Kitchen Manager/Cook will be responsible for planning menus, preparing meals, ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and following stringent food safety protocols in line with Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) childcare licensing and USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines. The role requires a hands-on manager who not only enjoys cooking for children but also prides themselves on running a clean, efficient kitchen that surpasses hygiene and safety standards.
In this independent and fulfilling position, the Kitchen Manager/Cook will collaborate closely with the school’s leadership and teaching staff to foster an environment where every child receives nutritious meals that support their healthy growth and developmental milestones. The individual will need to balance multiple responsibilities, including adhering to menu plans, accommodating dietary restrictions, maintaining detailed documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and practicing meticulous food handling and sanitation practices. This role is ideal for someone who values healthy nutrition for children, thrives in a structured setting, and desires to contribute meaningfully to a child-centered educational environment. The compensation ranges from $14.75 to $17.50 per hour, complemented by an attractive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, tuition assistance, wellness resources, and more. This position offers a consistent weekday schedule without nights, weekends, or major holidays, making it suitable for individuals seeking work-life balance in a supportive and family-oriented workspace.
