Job Description

Bright Horizons is a leading provider of high-quality early education and childcare services operating nationally with a strong commitment to nurturing the growth and development of children. At its vibrant Atlantic Station location, Bright Horizons continues to uphold its mission of offering a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children while supporting families and educators alike. As a company, Bright Horizons integrates its core values of care, respect, and excellence to create empowering experiences that foster lifelong learning and well-being. Serving communities with dedication and professionalism, this childcare center not only focuses on educational achievement, but also on wellness and health to encourage every child's fullest potential.

The role of a Cook at Bright Horizons Atlantic Station is integral to the daily operations of this esteemed center. This position involves the preparation and planning of nutritious, family-style meals that support the health, growth, and learning of children in care. Your work as a cook will not merely be about food preparation; it will actively contribute to creating a warm, predictable routine that nurtures the well-being of children, teachers, and staff members. The cook is responsible for following approved menus and nutritional guidelines to ensure balanced meals are provided every day, tailored to meet the attendance and dietary needs of the center’s children.

Working hours for this position are from 7 am to 3 pm, and the hourly pay range is between $15.00 and $17.00, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Bright Horizons values each employee’s contribution, emphasizing professional growth and personal fulfillment while making a meaningful difference in the lives of children. Beyond meal preparation, the role requires managing food inventories, ordering supplies through approved vendors, and ensuring a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen environment that adheres strictly to food safety, allergy-management, sanitation, and health procedures. This responsibility ensures that meal service is efficient and meets all regulatory standards.

The position demands physical endurance, including lifting food and supplies, standing for extended periods, and maintaining alertness for safety in an active childcare environment. Bright Horizons champions inclusivity and complies with all employment laws, offering reasonable accommodations where necessary. The company also provides numerous benefits for this position, including medical, dental, and vision insurance; paid vacation, sick leave, holiday, and parental bonding leave; as well as long-term and short-term disability insurance and a 401(k) retirement plan. Employees gain access to career development opportunities and support for work-life balance through resources for caregiving and education.

Joining Bright Horizons means becoming part of a community where everyone is valued and supported. It is more than a job: it’s an opportunity to help shape a brighter future, not only for children but for yourself as well. Your impact as a cook will be felt daily through the nourishment and care you provide, playing an essential role in the center’s joyful and productive atmosphere. This is a unique chance to grow professionally in a respected company that genuinely values diversity, equity, inclusion, and the overall wellness of those it serves.
