Bright Horizons is a leading provider of high-quality early education and childcare services, committed to fostering the growth and development of children in nurturing, safe environments. The Edward Zorinsky location in Omaha exemplifies the company’s dedication to delivering exceptional care that supports children’s social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth. Bright Horizons stands out not only for its innovative curriculum and supportive culture but also for its commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where employees feel valued and empowered. With a strong focus on community, diversity, and employee development, Bright Horizons provides a workplace where every team member can thrive and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families they serve.
The Cook role at Bright Horizons Edward Zorinsky location is integral to ensuring the highest nutritional standards and the smooth operation of the kitchen, creating a positive mealtime experience for both children and staff. This position operates Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., offering a balanced work schedule that supports work-life harmony. The cook is responsible for directing and overseeing daily kitchen activities including menu development tailored to nutritional guidelines, meal preparation, and inventory management. This role combines culinary skills with management capabilities to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment compliant with all sanitation requirements.
Working as a Cook at Bright Horizons means more than preparing food; it means contributing to the overall wellbeing and happiness of children who eagerly look forward to meals that fuel their day. The role requires planning and preparing nutritionally balanced meals that adhere to state regulations and company standards, ensuring every meal supports healthy growth. Additionally, the cook manages supply inventories by keeping accurate records and ordering necessary items timely to avoid shortages. The position also involves thorough cleaning tasks to uphold hygiene and safety protocols critical in a childcare setting.
Bright Horizons values candidates who have relevant experience in licensed childcare centers, public schools, or commercial kitchens, alongside possession of a valid Food Handlers permit. This ensures that the cook not only brings culinary expertise but also understands the unique requirements of feeding children in an educational and care-focused environment. Physical demands include lifting and carrying weights commonly associated with childcare activities and standing for extended periods, all performed within a culture that prioritizes safety and wellness for employees and children alike.
The compensation for this role ranges between $17.00 and $19.00 per hour, reflecting the company’s commitment to competitive pay aligned with experience and qualifications. Bright Horizons also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) retirement plans, and exciting career development opportunities like free college degrees through their Horizons CDA & Degree Program. This investment in employee growth and wellbeing highlights why Bright Horizons is not just a place to work but a place to build a fulfilling career.
Joining Bright Horizons means becoming part of a community that celebrates individuality, supports employee growth, and makes a tangible impact on future generations.
