One of the key programs under CEDARS is the Community Learning Centers (CLC), which offer on-site before-and-after school childcare and specialized enrichment clubs aimed at enhancing academic performance and personal growth for elementary school children. These programs are located conveniently at Clinton, Hartley, Roper, and Randolph Elementary schools. The CLC programs are designed to provide students with positive experiences that go beyond traditional classroom learning, focusing on academic enrichment, social development, and lifelong learning skills. The role of a CLC Staff member is crucial to the success of these programs. This position involves working directly with elementary students, primarily between the ages of 5 and 11, during the before-and-after school hours. The schedule is Monday through Friday, typically from 6:30 am to 8:00 am and then again from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, although schedule flexibility may be required based on availability. As a CLC Staff member, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and well-being of the children in care, engaging them in educational and recreational activities, and supporting positive behavior management.

Daily documentation and attentive supervision are key aspects of the role. The staff member will facilitate groups that address social skills development, educational needs, and enrichment activities designed to stimulate and engage children. Additionally, building and maintaining positive relationships with children, their families, and program staff is a significant part of the job. This role not only supports children’s academic growth but also fosters social and emotional development within a structured and caring environment.

Employment in this position is classified as non-exempt with a competitive rate of pay starting at $15.50 per hour.
