This role is integral to the daily operation of the school’s cafeteria and contributes directly to the well-being and health of students by ensuring the delivery of nutritious and appealing meals. The Food Service Associate will be responsible for a range of critical functions including food preparation, meal service, maintaining sanitation and safety standards, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with program regulations. This position offers a unique opportunity to support the school nutrition program which promotes healthy food habits while maintaining program integrity and customer satisfaction.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have prior experience in food service within schools or similar institutional environments and possess a ServSafe certification. Key responsibilities include preparing breakfast, lunch, and snacks in accordance with menu guidelines; setting up and managing the serving line to ensure meals are served efficiently and correctly; maintaining food safety and sanitation in line with local health codes; assisting with inventory control and food storage; and upholding all regulatory requirements related to the School Nutrition Program.\n\nThis role demands someone who is detail-oriented, capable of working well in a fast-paced environment, and strong in customer service. The Associate will interact daily with students, parents, staff, and visitors, contributing to a welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Physical endurance is essential due to the demands of standing for extended periods and handling repetitive tasks.
