Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- 3 months successful experience in commercial or institutional food preparation preferred
- ability to use heavy-duty commercial food preparation and baking equipment
- ability to work in a commercial kitchen environment with exposure to hot and cold temperatures, humidity, noise, biological, chemical, and electrical hazards
- ability to perform physical tasks including prolonged standing, frequent kneeling, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, frequent moderate lifting (15-44 pounds)
- ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- regular attendance
- ability to work safely with food preparation tools and equipment
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- knowledge and use of commercial food service equipment
- ability to follow written and oral directions and exercise good judgment
- capability to read and follow ingredient labels, recipes, safety instructions, and product information
- basic math skills to measure recipe ingredients

Job Duties
- participate in the preparation and production of large quantities of baked items
- follow approved standardized recipes and production planning standards
- be vigilant about using exact measurements and pay strict attention to timing
- assure proper mixing of each product to produce desired results
- make adjustments to the bread preparation and baking equipment to produce desired results
- adhere to tight production schedule, constantly checking to be sure correct quantities are produced for each order
- proper storage and authorized use of raw materials, supplies, and prepared products
- follow approved housekeeping and safety practices to ensure sanitary and safe conditions are maintained
- operate and clean all bakery equipment
- maintain a clean and organized storage area
- operate tools and equipment according to prescribed safety standards
- determine the effect of ambient conditions on final food product and adjust preparation accordingly
- adjust quantity recipes and measure for recipes
- make fellow employees aware of potential safety problems
- store or dispose of excess food properly
- keep garbage collection containers and areas neat and sanitary
- correct unsafe conditions in work area and report conditions not immediately correctable to supervisor
- maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance, and grooming
- maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating well with others
- complete annual continuing education requirements
- follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures
- abide by State and Federal laws, District policies, campus expectations and Texas Educator Code of Ethics
- perform other duties as assigned
