Bright Horizons has built a reputation for its commitment to the families it serves, promoting a culture of respect, diversity, and continuous professional development among its staff. Bright Horizons doesn’t just provide childcare; it empowers families and employees alike through comprehensive programs and career advancement opportunities.

The role of Cook at Bright Horizons is integral to the center's mission of nurturing healthy, happy children. This position involves planning and preparing nutritious, family-style meals and snacks that support children’s health, growth, and learning. The cook’s daily efforts ensure that mealtime is not only a time for nourishment but also an experience that contributes to the predictable and warm routine essential for children, educators, and staff. The cook will be responsible for creating balanced menus that comply with nutritional guidelines and accommodate attendance variations.

This full-time position requires Monday through Friday availability from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and involves maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment through adherence to rigorous food safety, allergy management, sanitation, and health procedures. The cook will also manage food and supply inventories, place orders with approved vendors, and collaborate closely with center staff to support smooth daily meal service. Beyond the hands-on cooking, the role demands vigilance to safety standards and responsiveness to the needs of children within the early education setting.

Bright Horizons highly values its employees and offers competitive compensation ranging from $14.42 to $19.47 per hour, depending on experience, education, and other factors. Alongside a supportive work culture, the company provides a robust benefits package designed to foster employee well-being, financial security, and professional growth. Employees at Bright Horizons benefit from medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) retirement plans, disability insurance, life insurance, financial planning tools, and career development opportunities, including free college degrees through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program.

Working as a cook at Bright Horizons is more than a job; it is a chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families in the community. This role calls for dedication to quality meal preparation, adherence to health and safety standards, and a genuine commitment to supporting the center's mission.
