Job Description
The Clinical Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery position is offered by a nationally ranked university system located in the Midwest, specifically affiliated with the University’s College of Dentistry and healthcare system. In this role, the Clinical Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery will have the unique opportunity to blend hands-on clinical practice with academic and administrative leadership. Approximately 60% of the role focuses on clinical work, including complex surgical procedures in trauma, oncology, and reconstructive surgery, delivered in collaboration with hospital leadership and interdisciplinary teams. Another 20% is dedicated to administrative and leadership responsibilities, including strategic planning, faculty oversight, and program development. The remaining 20% of the time will focus on academic duties and community engagement, fostering education and research growth in line with the institution's goals.
The Clinical Chief will be responsible for guiding the oral and maxillofacial surgery division's vision, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care while supporting the professional growth of faculty and residents. This position plays a vital role in mentoring residents and fellows, cultivating a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and collaboration. Job Requirements
- DDS/DMD degree
- Completion of an ADA-accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency
- Board-certified or board-eligible by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
- Eligible for dental licensure in the State of Kentucky
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in academic or hospital-based practice
- Demonstrated leadership in education, administration, or clinical operations
- Commitment to diversity, teaching excellence, and community service
