Job Description
The hotel industry plays a crucial role in the hospitality sector, providing accommodation, comfort, and outstanding experiences to travelers and guests from around the world. Our establishment is a prominent player in this vibrant industry, known for delivering exceptional service, maintaining elegant and safe premises, and focusing on the well-being and satisfaction of every guest who stays with us. We pride ourselves on upholding high standards across all departments, ensuring a seamless operational flow that contributes to our reputation for excellence. As a full-service hotel, we offer a diverse range of amenities and services, catering to both leisure and business travelers who seek an impeccable blend of comfort, convenience, and sophistication.
The role of an Engineering Manager within our hotel is pivotal to maintaining the quality and safety of our physical environment. This full-time position includes oversight of all engineering and maintenance activities, encompassing HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing installations, commercial kitchen equipment, and general building infrastructure. Salary and benefits are competitive and reflect the importance of this role in the smooth functioning of our property.
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring that the hotel remains in great working order at all times by adhering to operational standards that govern the Engineering Department. Your primary duties will include conducting regular walk-throughs and assessments of the hotel’s structures, systems, and equipment to identify and address maintenance needs promptly. You will manage the Preventive Maintenance Program for Rooms and Public Areas, keeping detailed and up-to-date records. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with hotel management and the General Manager to ensure alignment on operational objectives and seamless coordination across teams.
A crucial aspect of your leadership role involves hiring, training, supervising, coaching, and counseling associates and managers within the engineering team. You will uphold safety and emergency policies including evacuation procedures, first aid, and hazard removal, in compliance with OSHA Hazcom program and best practices such as safe lifting techniques. Your commitment will directly impact the guest experience, starting from their arrival, by ensuring the grounds are impeccably maintained and welcoming.
This role demands strong technical expertise and business communication skills, with the flexibility to work varying schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational demands. Candidates must be experienced in hotel engineering, skilled in reading and interpreting drawings, diagrams, and blueprints, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Physical requirements are office environment compatible but occasionally involve standing, walking, bending, and lifting light loads up to 25 pounds. We value team members who are passionate about guest service and who contribute positively to our collaborative work culture.
