Job Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift
- must be able to work in hot, cold and wet conditions and be able to stoop, kneel, crawl and climb on all types of surfaces
- hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations
- ability to climb stairs and ladders at a rapid pace, up to 30 feet in the air
- grasping, lifting and holding tools and having good finger dexterity is required
- perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property
- lifting and moving objects up to 100 pounds
- frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling
Job Qualifications
- Five or more years of related experience in building management/engineering
- substantial and successful track record in profitable engineering management
- familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred
- minimum of three years of managerial skills involving decision-making, deadline management, contract negotiation, analytical ability, and coordination of large-scale projects
- ability to schedule, manage, and delegate work effectively and efficiently
- excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- ability to read and communicate verbally and in writing
- computer literacy in MS Word, Excel
- complex mathematical skills with proficiency in Excel spreadsheets and calculators for budget preparation
Job Duties
- Direct all facets of engineering
- ensure compliance with brand standards and regulations
- manage preventive maintenance programs
- inspect engineering areas and equipment
- investigate and report incidents and accidents
- coordinate with law enforcement and fire agencies
- submit recommendations for improvements
- lead emergency preparedness and accident prevention programs
- train and supervise engineering staff
- communicate effectively with hotel departments
- conduct disciplinary actions and performance evaluations
- ensure high customer satisfaction
- lead with positive coaching
- promote safety and security
- manage engineering budgets and capital expenditures
- maintain accurate asset tracking
- conduct property inspections
- oversee employee relations and development
- participate in hiring and training initiatives
- implement disciplinary procedures
- foster open communication
- recognize employee contributions
- support continuous learning and development
- maintain professional and positive attitude
- promote effective interdepartmental communication
- regularly update staff and management on engineering activities
