Presentation skills are also key, as you will arrange, garnish, and portion food to meet established quality standards. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment is crucial, as is delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a positive attitude with guests, coworkers, and clients. Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- Knowledge of basic food preparation principles
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to wear uniforms and PPE
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Duties
- Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items
- Safely use a variety of utensils including knives
- Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
- Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use a variety of cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines
- Properly store food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- Ensure security of company assets
