The Food Service Worker role at Aramark is a vital part of the team responsible for supporting the daily operations within the food service environment, contributing directly to the satisfaction of customers through the preparation and serving of quality meals. This position involves assisting the manager with food and meal preparation, maintaining accurate cash receipts and meal records, and helping in the preparation of daily reports. In this role, the Food Service Worker will prepare diverse quality food and baked goods based on predetermined menus, ensuring all meals meet quality standards and are presented appealingly with appropriate garnishments. The role requires thorough understanding of meal compositions and strict adherence to storage and food safety protocols to maintain freshness and prevent contamination. Food service duties include timely preparation and serving of food according to schedules and departmental policies, operation and care of kitchen equipment, and ongoing cleaning and sanitation tasks to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment.

The Food Service Worker will regularly coordinate with the manager to stay informed about menu plans and specific food service requirements of the day. This position also involves responsibilities such as supervising food temperature, maintaining organized work and storage areas, and participating in deep cleaning tasks including refrigerators, freezers, counters, steam tables, and other cooking and serving equipment. Moreover, the role demands flexibility to perform additional kitchen duties as assigned and may involve physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, and extended periods of standing or walking. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and uniform compliance are mandatory aspects of this position.

Job Duties

  • Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
  • Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
  • Understand what is inclusive of a meal
  • Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
  • Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies and procedures
  • Use and care of kitchen equipment, especially knives
  • Timely preparation of a variety of food items, beverages, and add garnishments to ensure customer happiness and eye appeal
  • Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
  • Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
  • Adhere to the uniform policy
  • Connect with the Manager daily to understand and accurately prepare menu for the day
  • Supervise the food temperature requirements
  • Maintain a clean and organized work and storage area
  • Scrub and polish counters, clean and sanitize steam tables, and other equipment
  • Follow established procedures and standards for cleanliness, to ensure a balanced and safe environment
  • Maintain garbage collection site and kitchen floor areas in a neat and sanitary fashion
  • Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
  • This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
