Founded on a mission rooted in service and driven by a commitment to do great things for clients, communities, and the planet, Aramark has established itself as a trusted partner for organizations ranging from educational institutions to corporate sectors, healthcare facilities, and sports and leisure venues. With a core belief that a fulfilling career should develop personal talents, fuel passions, and empower professional growth, Aramark continuously invests in its workforce, offering a culture of support, teamwork, and opportunity.
The role of the Food Service Worker at Aramark is a vital position that supports the overall kitchen operations, directly contributing to the delivery of high-quality meals and excellent customer service. This position primarily assists the manager with food and meal preparation, ensuring that all standards of quality, hygiene, and kitchen safety are consistently maintained. The Food Service Worker is also responsible for maintaining cash receipts and meal records, assisting in the completion of daily reports, and upholding all food safety regulations related to sanitation, handling, and storage.
A successful candidate in this role will have hands-on responsibilities that include preparing quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu, engaging in thorough cleaning and sanitization of kitchen equipment and work areas, supervising food temperature requirements, and ensuring correct portioning and presentation of meals to meet customer satisfaction. The Food Service Worker must possess an understanding of what each meal includes and adhere strictly to meal schedules as well as department policies and procedures. Additional duties extend to the care and maintenance of kitchen equipment, including the safe use of knives, organizing storage areas in a sanitary manner, and assisting with major cleaning tasks such as refrigerators and steam tables.
Physical demands of the role are recognized, requiring the individual to be capable of lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of standing or walking. The compliance with uniform policies and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are mandatory, underscoring the company’s commitment to safety and professionalism in the workplace.
Aramark views this role as more than just a job – it is an opportunity to develop new skills, contribute meaningfully to a team, and make a positive impact for both employees and customers. Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing duties are important, as job responsibilities can evolve to meet operational needs.
