The role of Cook at Aramark is a vital position focused on preparing high-quality food while embracing creativity and culinary skill. Working as a Cook, you will help bring recipes to life using fresh ingredients and state-of-the-art equipment. The role immerses you in a culinary environment that goes beyond ordinary food preparation – experimenting with various cuisines, flavors, and cooking methods to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
As a Cook at Aramark, you will be responsible for cooking and preparing a broad variety of food items according to strict production guidelines and standardized recipes. Your duties will include setting up your workstation with all necessary ingredients and equipment, preparing ingredients through measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling, and accurately using utensils and kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers. You will apply different cooking techniques including baking, roasting, broiling, steaming, and more, to meats, vegetables, and other foods while ensuring the proper garnishing and portioning of dishes.
Maintaining rigorous hygiene and safety standards is crucial to this role. You will be expected to store food safely, adhering to established food safety policies and procedures. Cleaning and sanitizing the work area, equipment, and utensils are key responsibilities to prevent contamination and ensure operational efficiency. In addition, providing excellent customer service with a positive attitude towards guests, clients, and coworkers is a core part of the job.

Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in a related role required
- Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Must be able to acquire food safety certification
- Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stand for extended periods
- May require uniforms and/or usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)
