Vallarta Supermarkets is committed to fostering a welcoming environment for both customers and employees, where teamwork, respect, and customer satisfaction are priorities.
The hiring role at Vallarta Supermarkets is for a Chicharronero, a specialist who prepares and cooks chicharrones, carnitas, and other authentic Mexican dishes in accordance with the company’s high standards for consistency, quality, and safety. This role is fundamental in upholding the authentic taste and exceptional quality that customers expect from the brand. The Chicharronero works closely with the kitchen team to gather and prep ingredients, maintain cleanliness and safety in the work environment, and deliver prompt, courteous service in a fast-paced, festive setting.
This is a full-time position with a competitive pay range of $18.64 to $21.10 per hour, reflecting the skill and dedication required for preparing traditional Mexican cuisine. The work environment is a bustling taquería-style kitchen, where direct customer interaction and teamwork are essential aspects of the job. The position demands physical stamina, as it involves standing and walking for extended periods, frequent bending, lifting heavy items such as pork bellies, and working in hot conditions.
Candidates for this role should have a knowledge of authentic Mexican food preparation and familiarity with kitchen tools and equipment. Prior cooking or prep experience is advantageous but not mandatory. Employees are expected to maintain food safety and sanitation standards, communicate effectively with management regarding supply needs, and support their coworkers in departmental operations.
Vallarta Supermarkets values legal work authorization, a team-oriented attitude, reliability, and the ability to operate safely in a lively kitchen environment. Basic English language skills are required for communication. The company offers an inclusive and team-focused workplace culture, encouraging employees who are hardworking and detail-oriented to build rewarding careers.
By joining Vallarta Supermarkets as a Chicharronero, team members become part of a larger family that promotes growth, respect, and recognition. The company also provides a variety of employee benefits, supporting full-time and part-time workers alike. With opportunities for advancement, scholarship programs, and a comprehensive benefits package, Vallarta Supermarkets is a dynamic and rewarding place to build a career in food service and customer care.
