Job Description

Young Life is a faith-based organization dedicated to evangelism and discipleship among youth, serving communities across the United States. Founded with a strong Christian mission, Young Life integrates ministry activities with spiritual development and leadership training. The organization emphasizes the importance of living out Christian values in ministry and professional conduct, requiring all employees to sign a Statement of Faith to align with its spiritual mission and policies. Young Life’s work is deeply rooted in proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and fostering a ministry-driven environment where staff and volunteers actively engage in spiritual growth and community service.

Young Life in Cherry Creek, located in a dynamic and highly engaged suburban Denver community, is currently seeking a committed and experienced leader for the YL Staff Associate I position. This role is designed for individuals passionate about ministry and equipped with skills to revitalize and grow Young Life’s presence within large, high-performing schools. The position demands relational depth, cultural awareness, and creativity to rebuild trust and momentum within the community. This role carries the opportunity to learn through both formal training and practical experience, allowing the successful candidate to develop their ministry skills comprehensively.

The YL Staff Associate I is responsible for engaging in a variety of ministry functions including spiritual development, leadership development, resource development, direct ministry, and ministry support. The position involves fostering a vibrant spiritual life through prayer, reflection, and active participation in a church community. Leadership development is central to this role, requiring the ability to recruit, train, and support volunteer leaders to build effective ministry teams that reflect the local community. Additionally, the associate will engage in resource development such as raising financial support, donor care, public relations, and networking with key community stakeholders. Direct ministry activities include contact work, organizing clubs, discipleship through Campaigners, and coordinating camp experiences. Ministry support duties cover administrative, financial, communication, and strategic planning tasks essential to the smooth operation of the ministry.

This role is a unique opportunity for individuals who feel called to Christian ministry, are eager to grow in their leadership capabilities, and want to make a tangible impact on the lives of young people. The position requires flexibility to handle diverse work conditions including outdoor camp environments and extended hours. Young Life provides structured training programs including new staff training, leadership courses, apologetics, and ongoing ministry skills development to support the staff’s growth and spiritual maturity. Candidates with a college degree are preferred, alongside experience in direct ministry, demonstrated relational skills with youth and adults, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to maintain confidentiality.

This is a position that requires a servant’s heart and a commitment to the mission of Young Life, living out the organization’s values both professionally and personally. The role offers an enriching environment where ministry and professional development go hand in hand, creating lasting impact within the community and beyond.
