Job Description
ChampionX, now a part of SLB, is a global technology company committed to driving energy innovation and supporting sustainable solutions for a balanced planet. With a rich history of nearly a century of innovation, SLB focuses on unlocking access to energy with a mission to create a future that demands more energy but with less carbon footprint. As a leader in technology and innovation, SLB and its subsidiary ChampionX emphasize a diverse and inclusive work culture where employees are supported to grow, thrive, and achieve their highest potential. ChampionX specialized in providing solutions that support land-based oil and gas operations, chemical manufacturing, and industrial analytical services. The recent acquisition by SLB further expands its footprint in the energy sector, fostering more robust technology solutions and collaborative opportunities across global markets.
The Chemist role at ChampionX offers a unique opportunity to be a key contributor in a fast-paced, collaborative laboratory environment supporting U.S. land oilfield production chemistry programs. Reporting to the Regional Lab Manager, the Chemist applies foundational chemical knowledge to execute laboratory testing with a strong focus on precision, quality, and safety. The position involves managing high volumes of routine analytical testing, troubleshooting advanced laboratory instruments like ICP-OES, Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, and XRF, and conducting field sampling activities as necessary. This role demands a professional with 1-5 years of lab experience, excellent analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented culture. The Chemist plays a vital role in ensuring that data integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational goals are met, enabling the company to deliver exceptional service and solutions to its clients.
ChampionX values continuous improvement and growth, offering career development opportunities including leadership roles, mentoring, and increasing responsibilities within the laboratory. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills in managing up to 1,000 samples monthly, maintain quality and turnaround time expectations, and contribute positively to the lab’s efficiency and safety culture. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $70,000 to $80,000, reflecting the company’s commitment to attracting top talent to drive innovation and operational excellence in the energy sector.
ChampionX and SLB together foster a workplace that embraces diversity and inclusion, ensuring equitable treatment for all employees, while promoting an inclusive environment where all voices are heard. The Chemist role is ideal for an individual who is eager to contribute to groundbreaking energy solutions and is motivated to grow professionally within a global leader in technology and energy innovation.
