With a history spanning over a century, Kao is passionate about its mission to foster a Kirei Life for all — a beautiful life that balances the needs of consumers, customers, and the environment. Known for its unwavering commitment to ethical business practices, Kao has been recognized as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies for 16 consecutive years, a testament to its integrity, innovation, and respect for people and the planet.
The company operates in the consumer goods sector, offering a range of well-loved products such as Jergens Lotion, among others. Kao’s corporate philosophy, known as the Kao Way, emphasizes acting with integrity, courageously driving innovation, and treating each other with trust and respect. This philosophy serves as the guiding principle for all employees and the overall organizational culture.
Currently, Kao is seeking dedicated individuals to join their manufacturing team as Compounders / Batch Makers during the second shift, which runs from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. This role involves precise production activities essential to maintaining the quality and consistency of Kao's products. Employees in this position will be responsible for handling raw materials, operating processing equipment, and ensuring that all manufacturing procedures align with the company’s exacting standards. This hands-on role offers a great opportunity for individuals passionate about quality and safety in a team-oriented, dynamic environment.
The position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $22.00 to $26.00 depending on experience, with additional shift differential and bonus opportunities. Kao also provides exceptional benefits, including 34 total paid days off annually covering vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Employees are eligible for medical benefits starting from their first day of employment, along with 401(k) plans with company matching from day one, demonstrating Kao's commitment to both immediate and long-term employee well-being.
Beyond compensation, Kao fosters a friendly and flexible work environment focused on collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Team members are encouraged to participate in activities such as writing standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety audits, and project groups, enabling employees not only to contribute but also to grow and develop professionally. Kao values diverse perspectives, believing that the strength of its workforce lies in individuality and inclusiveness, and it actively welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
The role of Compounder / Batch Maker is vital to ensuring that every batch of product meets Kao’s premium quality standards. Responsibilities include accurately weighing raw materials, documenting manufacturing processes in detail, transferring products to holding tanks, sampling and testing materials, and maintaining clean and well-functioning equipment. Employees will also perform basic maintenance and partake in departmental improvement initiatives aimed at operational excellence.
At Kao, employees find a workplace where innovation is celebrated and their voices matter. The company believes that meaningful change is driven by those who take initiative and bring new ideas forward. Joining Kao means joining a purpose-driven company that not only cares about quality and sustainability but also invests in the professional growth and satisfaction of its people. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a world-class organization with a legacy of ethical business practices and excellence in consumer products manufacturing.
