We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Room Chef to manage the kitchen operations at our Sushi Buffet restaurant outlet. In this pivotal role, the Room Chef will take charge of all aspects of the kitchen, including developing and refining menu concepts to appeal to diverse customer tastes while ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal production levels. The position requires a hands-on leader who will oversee recipe creation and consistency, maintain rigorous health and sanitation standards, and ensure the preparation and presentation of food meets the highest quality benchmarks. The Room Chef will also be responsible for training culinary personnel, fostering their professional development, and managing the progressive disciplinary system to maintain a harmonious and efficient workplace. This role demands not only culinary expertise but also strong leadership, organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal abilities
  • Food safety certification
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and handle kitchen equipment

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a chef or kitchen manager
  • Knowledge of sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage kitchen staff and operations
  • Experience with menu development and cost management
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee all kitchen operations in the Sushi Buffet restaurant outlet
  • Develop and manage menu concepts, recipes, and cost controls
  • Train and supervise kitchen personnel
  • Implement and maintain health and sanitation standards
  • Manage the progressive disciplinary system for kitchen staff
  • Ensure preparation and presentation of food meets quality standards
  • Monitor food production and inventory
