Job Requirements

  • Minimum of two years experience as a Sous Chef or similar position preferred
  • thorough knowledge of cooking techniques, menus, and recipes for assigned cuisine or style
  • ability to stand for the majority of shift
  • physical ability to grasp, reach, bend, lift, and kneel
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to obtain and maintain necessary licenses or certifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals according to established recipes and standards
  • supervise and direct kitchen staff in assigned specialty restaurant
  • interview, hire, schedule, train, coach, evaluate, promote, counsel, and discharge personnel
  • requisition stock according to business needs
  • ensure food products meet quality standards and are properly stored and rotated
  • maintain cleanliness and safety of kitchen and storage areas
  • resolve customer complaints about food quality or preparation in a timely manner
