Job Description

Currently, Morrison Healthcare is hiring immediately for the position of Sous Chef. This role is a vital part of the Culinary Department's successful operation within a healthcare facility. The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to assist in supervising food preparation, cooking various food items, developing daily menus, and overseeing quality and presentation. This position may include supervising hourly associates and participating in the development of new menus and ordering processes. It is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and entrepreneurial culinary professional who is eager to make a difference in an impactful, fast-paced environment.

The Sous Chef will also have responsibilities that include managing cost controls and expenditures, planning and creating menus, producing and executing catering events, and rolling out new culinary programs in collaboration with the company's marketing and culinary teams. Catering experience and familiarity with institutional and batch cooking are beneficial. The role demands comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends, quality standards, production efficiency, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation. Proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and internet usage is required.

Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • A.S. or equivalent experience
  • some progressive culinary/kitchen management experience depending upon formal degree or training
  • catering experience a plus
  • high volume, complex foodservice operations experience highly desirable
  • institutional and batch cooking experiences helpful
  • comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • experienced with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point), Outlook, E-mail and the Internet
  • ServSafe certified highly desirable

Job Duties
